Clear Cut Couples: Lincoln and Mackenzie
Lincoln remembers how he met Makenzie much more clearly than Mackenzie does, but the first time they met was actually in P.E class in middle school! They were put on the same softball team, and the rest is history. Kidding, the spark still needed a few years! The official meet happened one summer in high school. It was the era of Facebook, and after seeing each other’s profiles, they began texting.
After a month or so of texting and getting to know each other they met IRL at a neighborhood park for their first date! From there they dated throughout high school, did long distance in college with Lincoln at Cal Poly SLO and Mackenzie at Loyola Marymount University in LA, even pushed through a year of Lincoln studying in Germany, and then finally said sayonara to the distance when they moved in together in Santa Monica post college. The rest is history!
They have shared countless incredible memories since then! Travel is a love for both Lincoln and Mackenzie and they try to do it as often as they can. They’ve been fortunate enough to travel all over the world over their 12 years together. Some of their highlights have been Paris for New Years Eve 2016, 24 hour travel days on an incredible trip to The Maldives, an instant love for Sayulita, Mexico as well as Lisbon, Portugal and most recently an insane food tour of Mexico City.
Lincoln proposed in late October 2022. He planned a surprise weekend and gave Mackenzie no details (so she had to pack for every single occasion and had a giant suitcase for the two days). They drove north from LA and she had a few guesses but all were wrong. Lincoln had a whole camping rouse going - including the tent and sleeping bags in the trunk of the car - and had Mackenzie fully convinced. They ended up spending the first half of the trip in Cambria and Cayucos (for the famous cookies of course) and then made their way up to Big Sur - a place they both love! After a hike they went to Pfeiffer beach for sunset and when Mackenzie turned around from taking sunset photos, Lincoln was down on one knee! It was perfect 🤍. They stayed in a beautiful cabin at Glen Oaks, much to Mackenzie’s surprise there was no camping, and had an amazing dinner at Big Sur Bakery. The next day Lincoln rounded out the incredible weekend with surprise number 500 - an engagement party with their amazing families and friends! With all these years together they’ve become so close with each other’s families and friends, so being able to celebrate with everyone was the cherry on top. The weekend was a dream!
The beautiful ring and proposal were both surprises! She immediately fell in love with the ring, it was exactly what she’d wanted but somehow even better then she’d imagined! They’re getting married in the Spring in Mexico! Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
